Susi Mayr was an excellent dancer and teacher of both scottish country dancing and Step Dancing. She was a co-founder of the <<http://www.rscdsvienna.org/|RSCDS Vienna Branch>> and the driving force behind the founding of the <<https://www.rscds-ib.org/|International Branch>>. Furthermore, she organized the <<https://scdkaleidoscope1.strathspey.org/|SCD Kaleidoscope>> in 2009, the first international conference with presentations and discussions covering many different aspects related to SCD. It was a conference for SCD dancers, teachers and musicians from around the world. The <<https://scdkaleidoscope1.strathspey.org/|conference page>> is still online. On 7th July 2012 she lost the battle against cancer at an age of only 55 years.
