Person Scotch Mist 10955

The band "Bobby Brown and the Scottish Accent" was the vision of Bobby Brown (July 13 1941-May 3 2011).   
On his death, the band changed its name to “Scotch Mist”, and the same day Stef Hutka joined it as fiddler.  At the changeover, one CD, "Eight Bars of Magic", was produced using the name “Laird Brown with the Scottish Accent”, but the band never used that name in any other context.  Both bands were based in Toronto, Canada.  
For the last 3 years the band has continued the tradition of playing for Scottish Country Dance Music and workshops throughout North America.  

The current (5/2014) members are:   
- Lead Accordion: Laird Brown
- Violin: Stefanie Hutka
- 2nd Accordion: Kerry D. Boax
- Piano: Donny Wood
- Drums: Warren Beesley
- Bass: Rob Wolanski

When writing tunes, Laird uses the name “Laird J. Brown”.
