Issue 826: Marino Polka

Well, that's tricky. The research for the recording of Gordon Pattullo clearly states the dance's name is "Marino Polka" (with an a, not an o). The composer of that tune seems to be a "J Cassidy". I cannot find a Marino or Morino Polka for "Jimmy Cassidy", only for "James Cassidy" - then under "Morino Polka" (with an o). So, to me, it is not 100% sure that a) both Polkas are the same tune and b) Jimmy Cassidy, J Cassidy and James Cassidy are necessarily the same person, even though I must admit that there is some coincidence. But I don't want to change the database based on estimation - can you come up with a more coherent research for that? 
(Sorry for the really long delay in our editing work for tunes and music - I try to work my way through some of the issues bit by bit now).

Okay, I will give it a second thought. Even though all records state "Marino Polka" for the Pattullo recording, it is most likely some typo gone bad. Pattullo is a dedicated accordionist, and one series of instruments is the "Hohner Morino". James Cassidy, who did recordings for "Morino Polka", is an accordionist as well. I will try to dig deeper and then most likely correct the entry with an alias for "Marino Polka".
