The music seems to be a 6/8 jig http://www.members.westnet.com.au/trevanne/rscdswa/dances/music/The_Torridon_Cross.pdf but I am no musician! I thought that the rhythm of 9/8 jigs was quite distinctive - like "Strip the willow", but I had not really thought about it before now! In the Overview for "Strip the Willow", it says " Also known as “Drops of Brandy”, “Strip the Widow” (unofficial). Jig (9/8) · 40 bars · 4 couples · Longwise - 4 (Progression: 2341) " but in the Overview for "Torridon Cross" it says "Jig · 48 bars · 4 couples (3x,4x) · Longwise - 4 (Progression: 3142) " If I am wrong and this dance is not a normal 6/8 jig, the database seems to be inconsistant in teh way it handles these things!
