I have that recording and just listened to it. I agree the transition sounds a bit abrupt but does seem to keep the right time when starting the strathspey whereas in some medleys it can seem as though there is an extra pause.

I am not a musician but often the last bar is just beats 1,2,3 and a pause before the final chord. I assume this is intended to match the opening where there is usually a "pickup note" one beat before the first bar.

So Im not convinced this is a recording error. But it would be good if someone with greater musical knowledge could give an opinion.

I listened to the recording and it seems fine to me – as Murrough notes, the transition sounds a bit abrupt, but there is certainly nothing missing from bar 32 of the reel tune. Closing the issue as “Ignored”.
