The Traditional Tune Archive lists two different tunes which are both called “The Piper's Cave”, one by “J Sutherland” and the other anonymous/traditional. I spot-checked a few of the recordings and they tend to be the second tune (i.e., *not* the one by Sutherland). At some point someone will have to spend quite some time disentangling the two.

It might be worse. tunearch might be wrong here, somehow. All youtube results point to the same tune [1] which tunearch labels als traditional, whilst most credit this tune to Sutherland - which doesn't fit to the tune shown for Sutherland on tunearch. To make it more complicated: one online recording says that the guy who plays it is related to Sutherland, and he (again) he plays the tune NOT labeled to Sutherland on tunearch. https://pipetunes.ca/tunes/pipers-cave-the/ Hm hm hm hm.
