Found this note re the dance which explains the unusual name. May be of interest. 

"Burnieboozle is the name of the house where Jim and Rhoda McMillan live in Formby. The dance has been written to honour Jim's year as the President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Federation of Scottish Societies 1987-88"
