The notes explain that "In 1998, Amy Chlebecek hurt her ankle and was unable to dance rounds. Instead, she look jumping into the middle of the set from whatever position she was dancing, and letting the other couples dance around her. Someone suggested writing a dance called 'Amy in the Middle', so I did."
