"Dedicated to Maureen Vivino, longtime renegade and leader of the Ithaca Scottish Country Dancers; an all round good dancer, great friend, and noted vegetarian. The name of the dance came up during an after-dance get together and, to me, is suggestive of the ability and the attitude that she brings to her own dancing and the spirit she inspires in others. The dance was inspired by her cast off in tandem modification, for a demo, to a Strathspey That Shall Remain Nameless."
