This dance is not to be confused with the <<ddd:Brudenell Jig>>, also by Brenda Burnell, published by the RSCDS in <<ddpub:Second Book of Graded Scottish Country Dances, A>>. The dance is named after the Brudenell Evening Institute, Leeds, UK. The deviser's husband taught Scottish Country Dancing there, and eventually became head of the Brudenell Evening Centre. (This information is taken from the note at the end of the description of this dance in the 35th Silver Thistle Collection)
