Tayport Beauty
Tayport or Ferry-Port-on-Craig in Fife faces Broughty Ferry across the Firth of Tay and from the 15th century was a town of some importance until the second Tay Railway Bridge was completed in 1888. The first bridge which crossed between Newport-on-Tay in Fife and Dundee in Angus was blown down in a great gale on 28 December, 1879, taking with it the 5:20 P.M. train out of Burntisland and the lives of all on board.
Near Tayport is Scotscraig, once the home of James Sharp, Archbishop of St. Andrews and Primaye of Scotland, who was murdered by betrayed Covenanters on Magus Muir in 1679.
