Note by the deviser.

Devised during the last week of July, 1971.

This dance was originally devised after Noeline challenged me to devise a 'really real reel' - a dance
consisting of reels only. Under the circumstances an alliterative title was unavoidable.

At the end of bar 78 (ie. at the end of the reel of three with comers during the second time through)
fourth couple finish in original places facing out. On bars 79-80 first couple lead down with left
hands and cross over between fourth couple while fourth couple dance up to third place.

Rohan ('Land-of-Horses') was a realm of Men north of the White Mountains - originally a province
of Gondor. It was a fair country of vast grasslands - ideal for the rearing and breeding of horses.

The inhabitants were known in Gondor as the Rohirrim ('Masters-of-Horses') - the Riders of Rohan much respected for their loyalty and bravery. A white horse upon green was the emblem of these people.

Table rows with a green background denote recordings starting with one of the recommended tunes and the usual number of repetitions for the dance (8). A yellow background means a recording with one of the recommended tunes but a non-standard number of repetitions. Recordings with a red background use a different tune and possibly a non-standard number of repetitions.

Recordings whose titles are in italics are not explicitly linked to this dance but have been identified by the database based on the type, bar count, and recommended tune(s) of the dance.
