The <<https://www.oxfordreference.com/view/10.1093/oi/authority.20110803095632663|Oxford Reference>> says: > A source of inspiration and knowledge in early Irish mythology, some what comparable to the well of Mimir in Norse tradition. The location of the well changes from text to text, and the identity of the Connla for whom it is named is not clear. It may be under the sea, in Tír na nÓg [The Land of Youth], or in Tír Tairngire [The Land of Promise]. One Dindshenchas [lore of place-names] cites a Connla's Well near Tipperary. The dance is dedicated to <<ddp:Holden, Anna Campbell>> on account of the authority of her teaching.
Table rows with a green background denote recordings starting with one of the recommended tunes and the usual number of repetitions for the dance (4). A yellow background means a recording with one of the recommended tunes but a non-standard number of repetitions. Recordings with a red background use a different tune and possibly a non-standard number of repetitions.
