Note: in this dance, whenever dancers advance and retire they join RH for an instant before retiring; unless noted otherwise, all advance & retire movements each use 2 steps.

1–8

1L & 3M advance & retire diagonally, then dance halfway anticlockwise round set to swap places as 1M & 3L adv. & retire diagonally

9–16

@#1s 2s & 3s all advance & retire, 2s across set, 1s & 3s on sides; then 2s dance halfway anticlockwise round set to change places WHILE 1s & 3s advance diagonally, retiring on next diagonal to L (¼ clockwise - ends 1, 2, 3 all on opp. sides)

17–24

2s advance & retire 1 step each, retiring ¼ clockwise (i.e. M down and L up in centre) WHILE 1s & 3s dance ¼ anticlockwise to next of their 4 current places; then 2s & the others swap roles to regain their Bar 17 places, i.e. 2s dance ¼ anti-clockwise, 1s & 3s advance & retire on next diagonal to L (1 step each). Then 1s cross RH to own sides & cast down to 3rd place WHILE 2s & 3s ½ turn RH to end facing up RHJ, dance up 1 place to end 2, 3, 1 own sides

25–32

3s & 1s advance & retire on next diagonal to L (1 step each), and repeat (order now 2 1x 3x); 1s & 3s with partners advance & retire (1 step each), then advance 1 step quickly turning ½ RH and retire to own sides
