The notes say this is dedicated to Bob Ritchie who for many years teased Leicester teachers about a dance bearing this name. The figures relate to his description of the area :- Bars 1 - 8 portray the River Ugie, 9 - 16 depict the two castles, Inverugie and Ravenscraig, 17 - 24 represent the communal Fish House originally used by both castles and 25 - 32 life in the two castles. When the dance was being devised Bob was not very well but on his recovery he was 'raring to go' hence the reason why the women dance the first figure in strathspey time and the men dance it in jig time.
Table rows with a green background denote recordings starting with one of the recommended tunes and the usual number of repetitions for the dance (4). A yellow background means a recording with one of the recommended tunes but a non-standard number of repetitions. Recordings with a red background use a different tune and possibly a non-standard number of repetitions.
