*Note: this dance uses a "Petronella-to-left" sequence (4 pas-de-basque, with the middle two used to progress to the diagonal L). Also in the usual 4-bar "Petronella-to-right" sequence (Pet. turn to R & set), use both the first two pas-de-basques to progress to the diagonal R.*

1–8
: 1s dance usual Petronella-to-right sequence (Petronella turn and set, 2s step up); 1s then turn ¾ LH back to own places WHILE 2s dance usual 4-bar Petronella-to-right *(order clockwise around the "diamond" from 1M place is now 1M, 2L, 1L, 2M)*
9–16
: 1L & 2M stand (4 bars) while 2L & 1M change places by usual Petronella-to-right and Petronella-to-left respectively (1M passes inside 2L, i.e. closer to centre of the "diamond"); all RH across once round *(clockwise order from 1M place now 2L, 1M, 1L, 2M)*
17–24
: 1M & 2L, 2M & 1L change places in pairs in 4 bars, M with normal Petronella-to-right while L pass inside them with Petronella-to-left; all LH across once round *(order now 1M, 2L, 2M, 1L)*
25–32
: *(Snowball chase, led by 1L, to progress:)* 1L dances just over once anti-clockwise around set to 2L place WHILE 1M (next clockwise) makes Petronella turn to R (2 bars) & follows 1L to 2M place, 2L stands 2 bars, makes Pet. turn to R & follows to 1L place, 2M stands 4 bars, makes Pet. turn to R and follows to 1M place
