The notes say this dance was "written for Dr. Peter McBryde, a teacher, and his wife, Marion, who have contributed much to Scottish Country Dancing in Canada through the Teachers' Association and Tactalk." A footnote explains that a Reef Knot tied incorrectly is known as a 'Granny Knot'. In the S.C.D. formation called 'The Knot', dancers turn with the left hands back to places, whereas in the last 4 bars of this dance they turn to places with the right hands, suggesting the above title.
Table rows with a green background denote recordings starting with one of the recommended tunes and the usual number of repetitions for the dance (8). A yellow background means a recording with one of the recommended tunes but a non-standard number of repetitions. Recordings with a red background use a different tune and possibly a non-standard number of repetitions.
