John Drewry wrote in the original description that the dance was for Simon Fraser of Nairn. Furthermore, he notes: *At Randolph's Leap near the confluence of the Findhorn and Divie there are two stones marking the record height of the waters during the great floods of 1829. Simon's father was born at Dounduff about half a mile north-east of Randolph's Leap.*
