Dance devised by Peter Jamieson and Ruth MacInnes to celebrate the October 2021 house warming of “Ardbiel” a beautiful home built by Fiona MacDonald at Farley, near Beauly in Ross-Shire. The movements in the dance represent some of the elements of the build. _Bars 1-8_ represent the complex negotiations with Highland Council Planning and Building Control departments to gain planning permission and building warrant for the innovative design. _Bars 9-16_ represent the extensive mixing of the natural lime based building materials. _Bars 17-24_ represent the raising of the beautiful arches which define the shape of the house and support the roof. _Bars 25-32_ represent the travails of finally getting the completion certificate. (We couldn’t think of any way to elegantly represent the breaking of the laptop…) _Bars 33-40_ represent the gathering of friends for the house warming.
