This dance was devised in memory of Ross Edwards, who died in November 2016.

Cath, Ross’s wife, had great trouble at times dancing with his freespirited approach on the dance floor and sometimes had to take him in hand for a few quiet words.

His naughty ways were loved by many and we miss him dearly. Not many dancers could get away with this approach to Scottish Country dancing but Ross, with his twinkling eyes, could. Like a box of chocolates, you never knew when you danced with Ross quite how it would turn out.

Damon Collin has named the first formation “The Rosss”

The Reel in this dance is an example of what he got up to.

The extra ssss in the title are because when Ross emailed me he often signed off with:
   Rossss staff to Catherine, or
Rossss on behalf of she who should be obeyed, another one was,
Rossss secretary to Catherine E Edwards, or just
  Staffee

No longer with us in person, but always in spirit, R.I.P dear Ross.

Table rows with a green background denote recordings starting with one of the recommended tunes and the usual number of repetitions for the dance (8). A yellow background means a recording with one of the recommended tunes but a non-standard number of repetitions. Recordings with a red background use a different tune and possibly a non-standard number of repetitions.

Recordings whose titles are in italics are not explicitly linked to this dance but have been identified by the database based on the type, bar count, and recommended tune(s) of the dance.
