The first dance club in Vancouver was named for Lady Aberdeen, the wife of the Governor General of Canada. When the club started holding a tea dance on Remembrance Day on November 11, they named it for her. The club no longer exists, but the Lady Aberdeen Tea dance is still a highlight of the dance calendar for the Vancouver Branch.
