Those who have seen the concerts of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra will be aware of the great sense of humour of their conductor John Masson. It is not surprising that when he saw the sign over a certain fire-fighting appliance de decided to write music for a reel: “The Firehose Reel”! This appealed very much to Stuart’s sense of humour - it was too good an opportunity to miss! So Joyce Elliott devised the dance and the Galloways performed it for him as a birthday present.
