_Notes from the book 'Book of Tom's Dances':_ *This dance was devised in 2005. It is the sequel to "<<http://my.strathspey.org/dd/dance/7284/|Cape Town Wedding>>". Sadly our marriage did not last, so the dance was devised to mark the parting of the ways. Like <<http://my.strathspey.org/dd/dance/7284/|Cape Town Wedding>> the figures are symbolic. The all-round poussette symbolises being very much in love. The couple is going out together symbolised by leading down the middle and up, but then the break up happens, and they cross and cast to go their separate ways, meeting occasionally thereafter. As the Knot represents the wedding in Cape Town Wedding, I devised _Untie the Knot_ to symbolise the divorce.* In 1995 Tom Kerr choreographed the dance "<<http://my.strathspey.org/dd/dance/7284/|Cape Town Wedding>>" for his own and Christine Dawson's wedding celebration.
