We see a bee coming in through the entrance hole, running up the combs and stopping motionless surrounded by other hive-mates. It then disgorges all the honey it has just collected. Then it begins to perform a kind of "round dance," whirling round, changing direction many times, some hive-mates joining in. The bee is giving them instructions where to find a plentiful source of honey.
They take off and find the exact flowers that had been described to them. They return and repeat the dance for the other bees. Unless a honey crop is abundant enough to justify the calling up of a large army of foragers, no dances are performed inside the hive.

Table rows with a green background denote recordings starting with one of the recommended tunes and the usual number of repetitions for the dance (8). A yellow background means a recording with one of the recommended tunes but a non-standard number of repetitions. Recordings with a red background use a different tune and possibly a non-standard number of repetitions.

Recordings whose titles are in italics are not explicitly linked to this dance but have been identified by the database based on the type, bar count, and recommended tune(s) of the dance.
