Devised for Audrey and Robin Emmett on the occasion of their 50th birthdays - March 2010. This dance was originally published as a Reel on "8x32" at http://blog.lib.umn.edu/ldfs/8x32/2010_04.html, and then republished (with identical wording) as a Jig on http://www.members.westnet.com.au/trevanne/rscdswa/dances/Emmett%27s_Chase.pdf For the original Reel, the deviser indicated: Suitable CD recording : Track 9, RSCDS Belfast Branch Diamond Jubilee Dances recorded by Marian Anderson's Scottish Dance Band (tune "Iain Peterson") John Brenchley writes (private communication): "When we came to record the Other Kangaroo Paw cd we had rather too many reels and Emmett's Chase seemed more suited to a jig so we changed it. Marian composed a new tune for it. The tune suggested on the earlier version was only based on a suitable track from a cd for those without access to live music."
