The very survival of Scottish country dancing lies in encouraging the children of today to learn this gentle art of keeping fit. There are a number of excellent centres of dancing for children, but all too often it is becoming more difficult to retain their interest in their teenage years. This dance is dedicated to one such children’s group based at Langley, taught by Joan Bradbury. The village lies on the fringes of the Macclesfield Forest -the dance represents the children weaving amongst the trees & occasionally coming together to play/chat.
