Devised by Evalyn Eder in April 2005 and first published in The Seventh Martello Tower Book of Dances. Modified in March 2007 (“Madoma” version). The Madoma version reflected here is 4x48; the Martello version supposedly had 4x40 bars. Hence this dance is linked to different recordings for these two versions.
The Madoma version states: “May be danced to: Solway Reel.” The editors think this refers to the recording, not a tune.
The La Salle Causeway is the main crossing from Kingston across the Cataraqui River towards the previous Pittsburgh Township and Gananoque.
